The transfer window is nearly at a close for the summer, and it is now report that Manchester United have cooled their interest in Leicester City defender Harry Maguire to pursue a deal worth £30million for Barcelona’s Yerry Mina, but both parties now need to act quick to get it done in time.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is keen to bring a new central defender this summer ahead of the 2018-19 Premier League campaign, but has been frustrated thus far in the clubs pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur’s Toby Alderweireld, with Levy holding firm on a £75million price tag that they want.
World Cup star Maguire from Leicester City has since been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks, but Leicester are believed to be unprepared to sell the England international for less than £65m.
According to Sky Sports News, Manchester United have now switched their attention to Yerry Mina, who joined Barcelona from Palmeiras in the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old struggled during the second half of last season, but scored three times for Colombia during an impressive 2018 World Cup, which has led to a host of speculation surrounding his future.
Everton are reportedly interested also, so time will tell if it is Manchester United or Everton that manage to get a deal done in time.
