Adidas reveal Zlatan Ibrahimovic's shirt number at Manchester United for this season

Manchester United’s shirt sponsor Adidas have fuelled rumours that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will wear the No.10 shirt next season ahead of the Swede’s return to Old Trafford this season by making a series of “Ibrahimovic 10” shirts available to buy on their U.S. website.

The 35-year-old, who claimed 28 goals in a sensational opening campaign under Jose Mourinho, was released from the club in June after sustaining significant knee ligament damage in April during a 2-1 win over Anderlecht.

Ibrahimovic will make a return to Old Trafford next season, however, with Mourinho implying that the striker had unfinished business at United after seeing his first campaign cruelly cut short from injury. He was expected to sign a new short term deal in January – his predicted return date – but ESPN‘s Andy Mitten confirmed on Sunday that a new deal could be signed as early as this week.

And Adidas have further sparked rumours of an imminent return by selling No.10 shirts bearing the striker’s name on their U.S. website. Romelu Lukaku currently occupies the No.9 shirt, worn by Zlatan last season, and the Swede will be taking the jersey owned by Wayne Rooney for ten years.
