Chelsea and Arsenal both targeting Manchester United star

According to The Sun, both Chelsea and Arsenal are reportedly targeting Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard, with Antonio Conte and Arsene Wenger ready to take advantage of the uncertainty surrounding the England winger’s contract at Old Trafford.

If there is no extension offered or agreed on top of Lingard’s current deal, with expires at the end of the 2017/18 season, then he could leave United for free in a little under 18 months. Conte could reportedly use him as both a wing back or forward in the 3-4-3 system that he has employed since taking over at Stamford Bridge

Given that Lingard has made 25 appearances this season, and has been far from a regular start when fit, such a move doesn’t feel outside the realms of possibility. Whilst he retains Mourinho’s trust, and started last month’s EFL Cup final, scoring the second of United’s three goals in a 3-2 win, the prospect of him being a permanent fixture in the club’s starting XI remains remote, given that Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are often preferred ahead of him. As such, this is a rumour worth keeping tabs on.

Manchester United look forward to Sunderland away in the Premier League coming up at the Stadium of Light, Manchester United’s trip to relegation doomed Sunderland will not be an easy task for Jose and his men but they should have enough to overcome the odds of 9/20 with Bet on Brazil. The Black cats at 17/2 are to be avoided while the draw is available at just under 5/1.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
