Manchester United manager has moved to calm fears that Luke Shaw, a player who has been on the outside of his plans almost all season long will be sold by the club this coming summer. Shaw, who moved to Old Trafford from Southampton in 2014, has struggled to impose himself under the Portuguese, with the former Chelsea boss using Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian in his favoured left back position, but Mourinho is clear that regardless of his current struggles to get into his starting XI, Shaw will not be sold.
As per quotes in The Mirror, Mourinho, when asked if Shaw would be sold, said: “No, no, no. He will be here for sure, that is out of the question. What I think is that he had a very ugly injury, really, really ugly and the fact is not just the physical point of view but also the mental impact on him.
“So this season he has had a couple of small injuries and he needs to adapt. He knows what I like in a defender. Sometimes people forget he is only a young player with a lot to learn but I like the player and I like the boy.”
