Juan Mata is on course to enjoy his most prolific season in a Manchester United shirt this year. The Spaniard, who joined the club from Chelsea three years ago currently sits second behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic in United’s scoring charts with nine goals, but with plenty of the season left to come, and Jose Mourinho’s side involved in four competitions, he’s hoping to have his best year at Old Trafford yet.
Speaking to United Review in quotes carried by Manutd.com, Mata said:
“I’m happy with my goals total. I’ve got nine so far and hopefully I can score many more between now and the end of the season, and then look back on a really good season.
“So far in February that amount of goals for a midfielder is not bad. I haven’t set a target but hopefully I can do it again and have 10 goals for three seasons in a row.”
