Jose Mourinho has revealed several significant bits of team news ahead of the first leg of Manchester United’s Europa League last 32 tie with Saint-Etienne. The Ligue 1 side travel to Old Trafford on Thursday night, with the return leg in France in six days time, and Mourinho has confirmed that his back four for the first leg will be the same one that faced Watford in the Premier League on Saturday.
Mourinho was asked about the absence of Luke Shaw from proceedings, and the manager, speaking at his pre-match press conference, offered the following:
“He’s not playing tomorrow, because my team is playing well and I am happy with my back four,” Mourinho said. “I am going to repeat (Antonio) Valencia, (Eric) Bailly, (Chris) Smalling and Daley Blind.”
