Despite reports to the contrary, Marcus Rashford is not stalling on a new contract at Manchester United and has no desire to leave Old Trafford, as per a report in the Daily Mirror.
A report in The Times published earlier in the day had seemingly suggested the opposite, with the young England striker said to be disappointed at playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic up front, and the lack of game time he currently receives. The Mirror, however, suggest the opposite, and say that he is committed to Jose Mourinho’s team and has no plans to leave United.
Whilst it wouldn’t be a surprise to hear that Rashford is somewhat unsatisfied with playing behind Ibrahimovic as the club’s main striker, it feels a stretch to suggest that the 19-year old would seriously be considering leaving the club so soon after bursting onto the scene a little over a year ago. Given that the Swede’s career is surely coming to an end, Rashford must know that there is an opening for him at the club as Mourinho’s main striker if he is able to prove himself.
