Manchester United will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League this Sunday after three straight draws have severely dented their aspirations of a place in the top four.
Wednesday’s stalemate with Hull City has left Jose Mourinho’s side looking to get all three points from their visit to Leicester City, and the Portuguese will know that he must get his starting XI right if he is to get his side back on track.
David De Gea remains in goal, as expected. Phil Jones is out of the game after sustaining a foot injury against Hull, and Mourinho may be keen to rush Eric Bailly back into the heart of his defence alongside Marcos Rojo given how shaky Chris Smalling has looked of late. Matteo Darmain and Antonio Valencia will likely start at left and right back, respectively.
In midfield, Mourinho will likely opt for his preferred trio of Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba, although Carrick’s absence wouldn’t be a surprise given he started against the Tigers on Wednesday.
Up front, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will likely be given a chance to play himself out of his current uninspiring form, with Anthony Martial and Juan Mata poised to join him on the left and right of attack.
