Manchester United are preparing a gigantic offer for Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann, according to Goal.
The report states that the deal could be in the region of £68m, but given Griezmann’s quality and the money United possess, it’s easy to assume that any deal to bring the Frenchman, one of Europe’s top attacking talents to Old Trafford would likely be closer to the £89m deal that saw Paul Pogba move back to United from Juventus last summer.
With Atletico leaving the Vicente Calderon for a new stadium later this year, it’s suggested that a deal to sell Griezmann for a gargantuan fee would be of great benefit to them in order to help with the cost of building their new ground. Given Pogba’s relationship with Griezmann is said to be close, and taking United’s deep pockets into account, it makes quite a lot of sense that he would be of great interest to Jose Mourinho.
