Over the past few weeks it has been discussed that Anthony Martial has been unhappy with the lack of starts he is getting under Jose Mourinho and is seeking a loan move this new year, but, Manchester United have reportedly come out fighting this week and maintained their stance that Anthony Martial will not be allowed to leave the club on loan during the January transfer window.
Martial signed for Manchester United back in 2015 from AS Monaco for £36million and a fee that some of the UK press brandished a ‘waste of money’ – claims that were quickly shunned as the Frenchman began to score goal and goal for the club. Sevilla are reportedly interested is signing Martial on a loan move this, with his agent Philippe Lamboley claiming they are “studying” the possibility of moving to the La Liga side.
However, according to BBC Sport & The Telegraph, in a statement from the club, Manchester United remain unmoved on the subject and will reject any offers that come in for the 21-year-old, insisting he is an important squad member going forward to compete in four competitions.
The loan move claims come after Martial has scored just 4 in 17 appearances in all competitions this season under Mourinho. The likely departures this transfer window will be Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin.
