Manchester United come into the Capital One Cup match with 9 changes to the line up that faced Manchester City at the weekend.

Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo have remained in the line up; Lingard and Darmian also featured in the derby match but as second half substitutes.

This will be a good chance for Andreas Pereira to continue his push for the first team and it will be an opportunity for Memphis Depay to get back into Louis van Gaal’s good books.

Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka has kept his faith in the team’s cup keeper Tomás Mejías. He has also left David Nugent on the bench, who helped Leicester achieve the epic comeback victory against the Red Devils last season.
