Kitbag.com have revealed their top selling player shirts of this year. The top 10 only contains 3 La Liga players; all of the rest are Premier League stars.
- Phillipe Coutinho – Liverpool / Brazil
Coutinho’s shirt sales soared by an increase of 440%, most likely due to the departure of big names like Raheem Sterling, Steven Gerrard and Mario Balotelli.
- Alexis Sánchez – Arsenal / Chilie
The gunners are desperate to win the Premier League again, and with Sánchez leading the line, there’s very little reason why they can’t. The Chilean scored twice against Manchester United to rocket Arsenal into second place in the Prem.
- Sergio “Kun” Agüero – Manchester City / Argentina
Last year’s Premier League top goal scorer, with 26 goals, was Sergio Agüero, and he has scored 115 goals for City, since singing in 2011. The 27 year old signed for £31 million and has been worth every penny, he’s most probably the best addition to the Etihad.
- Neymar – Barcelona / Brazil
Falling from 2nd in last years shirt sales, Neymar still manages to make the top 10 list. Unfortunately for the Brazilian’s shirt sales, he plays at the same club as Lionel Messi, the star of world football.
- Wayne Rooney – Manchetser United / England
England’s All-Time top goal scorer is still a fan favourite at Old Trafford. The forward’s hard working nature and team ethic makes him core member of the Manchester United line up. The team captain has recently been moved into midfield, which of course has lowered his goal production. Despite all of the big name, and big money, signings over the last year Rooney is still high on the shirt sales.
- Eden Hazard – Chelsea / Belgium
Over the past few years, Belgium has been revealing a new group of incredibly talented footballers, and Hazard just might top the group. He’s so exciting to watch with his immense dribbling ability and willingness to take on any defender. At only 24 years old, Eden hasn’t even hit his peak yet.
- Bastian Schweinsteiger – Manchester United / Germany
The world class, World Cup winning, German midfielder only cost Manchester United £6 million this summer, and United fans love having a player of his calibre at their club. His shirt sales have rocketed 795% following his World Cup win and transfer to Old Trafford.
- Memphis Depay – Manchester United / Netherlands
He’s one of the most exciting young players in world football, and transferring to Manchester United has got the Old Trafford faithful enthralled in anticipation of seeing what their young winger can do in the seasons to come.
- Cristiano Ronaldo – Real Madrid / Portugal
The best footballer in the world comes in at second, after being in fourth last season. His record breaking exploits and Ballon d’Or win have reaffirmed him as the best player in the world. His shirt sale numbers suffer slightly due to Real’s Galácticos project, where they sign the best players in the world in every season. Despite transferring 6 years ago, Ronnie is still a fan favourite all over the world.
- Lionel Messi – Barcelona / Argentina
Last season, Lionel Messi not only won the treble with Barcelona, but also took his country to the World Cup and the Copa América final. He’ll be looking to reclaim the Ballon d’Or this season but for now he tops the shirt sales list.
