Anthony Martial takes just 4 minutes to shine for France

As they are hosting the 2016 European Championships, France have been playing friendlies during the international breaks.

Last night, France travelled to Denmark for their latest friendly, and Anthony Martial got his first international start.

The Manchester Untied striker started on the left side of a three pronged attack. Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud started as the central striker whilst Atlético Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann lined up on the right.

Anthony Martial instantly made an impact. Just 4 minutes into the game, he set up Olivier Giroud to put France 1-0 up.

Giroud then scored again, just 2 minutes later. France conceded their only goal against in the 91st minute. The game ended 2-1 and Anthony Martial played 87 minutes of his first international start.

In all competitions this season, 19 year old Anthony Martial already has 5 goals and 5 assists in 20 games. Of these 20 games, the Frenchman has only started in 12.

Martial’s next challenge comes in an away trip to Everton, where he’ll be looking to score against Premier League veteran Tim Howard.
