Manchester United have been scouting many central and left sided defenders, since the close of the transfer window.
Both Manchester United and Barcelona have been scouting Athletic Bilbao’s 21 year old centre back, Aymeric Laporte. The Frenchman has impressed many of the big clubs as, despite his young age, he is already a starting eleven player for the Spanish club, and has been for the last few years.
He is yet to break into the French national side yet, but has been a regular feature at youth levels, from under 17’s up.
Laporte has gotten wind of the transfer rumours, surrounding his future, and has spoken out to reassure his current club.
Speaking to AS, the defender said:
“My name is mentioned in every transfer window and with a lot of teams,”
“I’ve renewed four times with Athletic. I’ve done what I wanted, I’ve shown confidence in the club and them in me.”
“Let’s see if we can add more trophies.”
The French defenseman has 3 goals and an assist in his 117 appearances for Bilbao.
