Juan Mata’s had a cracking start to the season; he already has 4 goals and 6 assists in his 12 games. He’s cemented his place in the starting eleven, on the right wing, and has a goal and an assist in both of his last 2 appearances.
In midweek, he replaced Wayne Rooney as Manchester United’s choice penalty taker. He stepped up, and scored, the equaliser against VfL Wolfsburg in the Champions league.
In the same game, he pulled of a cool little back heel flick to dink the ball over the defence, and onto Chris Smalling’s goal scoring boot.
During training, the Spaniard has been showing off some of his other set piece talents, this time with his free kicks. The video below shows Mata practicing his free kicks blindfolded.
Juan Mata is expected to line up against Arsenal tomorrow afternoon and will be competing against either Kieran Gibbs or Nacho Monreal.
