James Wilson might be leaving Manchester United to join Championship side Derby County on loan.
Derby County are seeking promotion to the Premier League, and were one of the favourites to win the Championship, being only 1 point away from the playoffs last season.
They also managed to keep a hold of their young star, Will Hughes, despite heavy interest from Liverpool.
Unfortunately for the Rams, they’ve had a torrid start to the new campaign. In 5 league games they haven’t won any, and drawn 4. They also have a -1 goal difference, after only scoring 4 goals.
United’s 19 year old striker has enough pace and technical ability to really boost Derby’s hopes of promotion but, his departure would leave his current club in a sticky situation.
Without James Wilson, van Gaal is left with only 2 strikers, both of which need to be in the starting line up each week, in order to get the most out of both of them.
An injury to either Anthony Martial or Wayne Rooney would leave the Red Devils with only one striker, if Wilson were to depart on loan. To add to this, Rooney hasn’t gone a season without an injury since 2008.
Martial really shouldn’t be used as a back up to Rooney; he needs to become accustomed to the league, and what better way to do that than with Wayne Rooney behind him every game. This would also boost Rooney’s performance, putting him in his much preferred position.
Apparently Manchester United are open to loaning out James Wilson, to get the kid some first team football. This would be very good, if not for United’s emaciated strike force.

i think that leaving Wilson go on loan will be a very big mistake for man united as we don’t have anough forwads. he is the only the only standby player in that postion
Odd situation, sending out young players on loan eg. Wilson and Januzaj to get first team experience and replacing them with mega-expensive teenagers from lesser leagues in Europe, who are clearly inexperienced themselves.
