Chelsea tried to Hijack Martial

The biggest move on transfer deadline day was Manchester United paying A.S. Monaco a record fee for 19 year old Anthony Martial.

However, according to The Times, the move was almost hijacked by Chelsea who matched United’s bid to Monaco in an attempt to stop their rivals fro acquiring such an amazing prospect.

But The Pensioners were too slow. An agreement was already in place which would bring the Frenchman to Old Trafford.

According to reports, Manchester City, Chelsea Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain were all tracking the youngster. But, per the proposal from Ryan Giggs, the Red Devils made a quick and quiet move for their target to avoid the almost guaranteed skirmish for him next season.

Let’s hope that Martial plays, and grows into his huge potential.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
