United’s Spanish Armada

After Manchester United thrashed Club Brugge 4-0 (7-1 on aggregate) in the Champions League Qualifier, Juan Mata spoke of his joy for Rooney and national fellow countryman Ander Herrera’s goals.

Mata tells of how he and Herrera understand each other very well, on and off the pitch. He said:

“He played a very good game and scored a great goal. Obviously we understand each other very well on and off the pitch and I’m very happy as well.”

“I’m very happy for Wayne because he was training well. He did what he knows how to do – to score goals and to play for the team, running for the team-mates and it was good that we could give him the assists. He was looking for a goal, he got 3, and he could have scored more. I’m very happy for him. He deserves it.”

United fans are hoping that the addition of Herrera to the starting eleven would help the goals to start flowing, and get Wayne Rooney scoring in the Premier League.

In the Club Brugge game, despite being against far weaker opponents, saw Ander Herrera’s first start of the season. He played a part in all 4 goals, scoring one of them and getting the final assist another. He teamed up very well with Rooney, Memphis and Mata during the game.

An attack which includes both Mata and Herrera is a menacing one, even without mentioning Depay and Rooney. The inclusion of the other half of United’s Spanish Armada this weekend would not only please many fans but would also add an extra goal threat.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
