Champions League Group Stage Draw

Manchester United started the Champions League Group Stage Draw in pot 2 alongside: Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Manchester City, Bayer Leverkusen, Arsenal, Porto and Valencia.

The draw revealed the groups to be as listed below:

Group A: PSG, Real Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk, Malmo
Group B: PSV, Manchester United, CSKA Moscow, Wolfsburg
Group C: Benfica, Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray, Astana
Group D: Juventus, Manchester City, Sevilla, Borussia Mönchengladbach
Group E: Barcelona, Bayer Leverkusen, Roma, Bate Borisov
Group F: Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Olympiacos, GNK Dinamo
Group G: Chelsea, Porto, Dynamo Kyiv, Maccabi Tel-Aviv
Group H: Zenit, Valencia, Lyon, Gent

Not a bad draw for Manchester United. The trip to Moscow looks a bit daunting and hopefully Wolfsburg will lose their top assists man, Kevin De Bruyne, before the Red Devils travel to Germany.

United have only played their upcoming opponents a combined 8 times. Over these matches they have won 5, drawn 2 and lost 1.

United v PSV:

1984 – Away 0-0, Home 1-0 Win.

2000 – Away 3-1 Loss, Home 3-1 Win.

United v CSKA:

2009 – Away 1-0 Win, Home 3-3.

United v Wolfsburg:

2009 – Away 3-1 Win, Home 2-1 Win.

Manchester United should confortably make the 10 point mark and get to the next stage of the tournament.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
