After pre-season, Manchester United’s Belgian starlet didn’t look likely to feature in the first team in the coming season. However, he’s started in 3 of their 4 games and is United’s only Premier League goal scorer.
Over the summer, Januzaj has been linked to Sunderland on loan, Borussia Dortmund on a permanent deal and now Roberto Martínez has bid to take Januzaj to Everton, on loan.
After last season, it seemed only logical that the talented midfielder would be loaned out, but since the transfer rumours surfaced he’s become part of van Gaal’s first team, forcing out big new contract owner Ashley Young.
His play time may have been a ploy by the manager to get the Belgian to stay and convince him that he’s a part of Louis’ plans. Since being given his chance, Januzaj has played quite well for United.
Van Gaal stays adamant that Januzaj is part of his plans. At the young age of 20, Adnan still has a lot of experience to gain, which he would be able to get away on loan, he also needs to bulk up a bit to deal with the physical demands of the Premier League season.
Hopefully he continues to play and grow into his potential but, as he’s not guaranteed regular first team football, maybe a loan spell would be good for his development, provided that he gets consistent first team action.
