After United’s transfer saga with Barcelona player Pedro came to an end, with the Spaniard deciding to join Chelsea, there have been news reports claiming that the Red Devils were but 3 days away from securing Pedro’s signature.
What this actually means is unclear. Manchester United were trailing Pedro for weeks and on the day that United announce that they have withdrawn from negotiations with Barcelona, Chelsea announce that they will sign him.
So 3 days away is quite a random calculation as there is no real time frame or setting for transfers, but it does mean that Woodward has missed out on another Manchester United target.
Over this summer, United have missed out on many big names by the likes of: Sergio Ramos; Pedro and; Nicolás Otamendi. But Woodward is reportedly still working on bringing more players to Old Trafford.
With the transfer deadline (1st September) beckoning, the Red Devils look ready to add more elite quality to their ranks.
Last season, both Ángel Di María and Radamel Falcao were signed in the final week of the summer transfer window.
