Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur
Barclays Under-21 Premier League
The young reds are back in action today with a trip to Hertfordshire, where they will face Tottenham Hotspur in the Barclays Under-21s Premier League.
The fixture is not down at Tottenham’s home location, instead taking place at Stevenage FC’s Lamex Stadium with a 7pm BST kick-off.
Manchester United have got off to a fantastic start already in the league, gaining seven point from a possible nine in their first three matches, looking to as to that this evening.
Speaking before travelling down on Monday morning, Warren Joyce was unsure what squad would be travelling, but expressed how well they played against Sunderland. Joyce said:
“I thought we played really good football against Sunderland
“We had a good shape about us and people did their jobs and moved it quickly.
“In the second half, we were a little sloppy in the second half and we missed Tom Thorpe shifting the ball out of midfield quickly and efficiently and maybe one or two higher up the field got a bit tired.
“Meanwhile, Sunderland upped a gear and every credit to them. They could have folded completely but the people from Sunderland are not like that. They are good people and good staff and their character came across well in the second half.
“Spurs also have good people down there. John McDermott is a really good coach and a good person. They produce some players there and have an impressive style of football. It will be a good test for us on Monday.”
