On Tuesday evening, ESPN were the first to report that Manchester United are confident of signing Bayern Munich’s Toni Kroos this summer after the arrival of Louis van Gaal. They report that negotiations have been ongoing for the past 2 months, and as it stands Manchester United & Ed Woodward are confident of a deal to bring the German to Old Trafford this summer.
Next season, Toni Kroos will enter the final year of his current contract and the 2 parties have failed to agree on terms for a new deal. The option might be best for Bayern Munich to sell him rather than losing him on a free next year.
The report also states that Manchester United want to spend at least £150m this summer under new manager Louis Van Gaal. This includes key areas such as central midfield, central defence and left-back.
It is well known that Manchester United are ”extremely hopeful” over a deal for Southampton’s Luke Shaw with the Mirror also reporting on Tuesday that the deal is almost done and that Shaw wants the move.
All indications point towards an extremely busy summer for Louis Van Gaal, with the World Cup, getting to know his United squad and dealing with transfers; both arrivals and departures.

Kroos suits van galls philosophy , so therefore would be a great buy for united fingers crossed we get him
It is eminent that we needed a midfielder like Toni Kross to help Manchester United. He will be a great plus to the team for good result this new season.
Of course he will be ideal
Is he the “box to box” type that we want?
Why would we not want a player like kroos when the alternative’s we have in the squad are Darren Fletcher, Michael Carrick, Anderson and Tom cleaverly, Do people really think any of those are better than kroos. Then you have to think will LVG stop at buying just the 1 Central midfielder when he’s been linked with stroodman or vidal as well don’t, i don’t know about the rest of the man u supporters but i wouldn’t be disappointed to see all of the current Central midfield we have at our disposal replaced by world class players.
Carrick n’ Valencia MAY be the only 2 MF worth keeping….never saw Kroos play, but the hype alone suggest he has the skill and as far as fitting in….LVG seems to have the kind of personality to MAKE anyone fit in!!!
Will not happen.
