Over the past two days there’s been quite a few media outlets, including The Telegraph who are normally reliable, reporting that Manchester United are confident of signing Southampton defender Luke Shaw for a rumoured £30million.
David Moyes is hopeful of securing the deal before the World Cup and he is confident of beating Chelsea to the youngsters signature. Since Moyes has arrived it’s been no secret that he’s in the market for a new Left Back, but in failing to sign both Leighton Baines and Fabio Coentrao the attention has been turned to Shaw.
£30m seems an awful lot for a left back and even more so because Luke Shaw is only 18 years-old. But there is no denying he is a quality players with massive potential and if the deal is done he could be our left back for many many years to come.
With it looking ever more likely that Patrice Evra will part ways with the club this summer, Shaw would step straight into the first team and I have no doubts he would do a fantastic job.
In the report it was also mentioned that United sent scouts to watch Marco Reus as he played against Bayern Munich. This comes days after Manchester United reportedly are prepared to offer Toni Kroos £260,000 a week. Whatever may happen this summer it’s certainly going to be a busy one for Manchester United.

I think we still need RVP because he is a great player and he always gives us important results when we need it,its not a must that he should start for the first team but when you have a substites like him there’s no doubt that you can overturn the results if you are down.
True one…. shaw is good prosect for us. In the end of the season, maybe we’ll see one of our beloved player, patrice evra will go. So, we need to bring another evra even better.
But the price tag is too high in my opinion.
