Robin van Persie's injury not too serious says David Moyes

After the euphoria of going through the the final eight of the UEFA Champions League, some bad news hit the club as Robin van Persie had to be stretchered off in the 90th-minute after a challenge from Olympiacos’ Kostas Manolas.

van Persie, who scored a hat-trick to send Manchester United through to the next round, went down grasping his knee, but manager David Moyes stated after the game that he doesn’t seem to think it is too serious which is good news with clashes ahead against West Ham United and the visit of Manchester City next Tuesday evening.

Speaking with reporters at Old Trafford after Wednesday’s match, David Moyes said:

“I don’t think Robin’s too bad”

“He’s got a knock just behind his knee. We’ll know more in the morning – we’ll assess it – but he had a knock in the back of his knee.

We hope it’s not too bad.”

“We hope it’s not too bad”.

As a person who doesn’t believe too much in what Moyes says, I hope his hope
will be correct.
