Manchester United’s Tom Cleverley has admitted that new manager David Moyes is very similar to club managerial legend Sir Alex Ferguson, especially with the young players coming through the ranks.
Speaking in a televised interview with club channel MUTV, Cleverley said:
“All the players are getting along with the new manager and the coaching staff, and training has been sharp
“David Moyes is quite similar to Sir Alex Ferguson – he’s very straight-forward with you and good with the young players.
“Steve Round has also been very good; he often puts on sessions to improve aspects of your game that might not be your strongest area.
“We are now hitting a good run of form so hopefully that’ll carry on and the chemistry will keep developing.”
Cleverley, who has had a mixed start to the 2013/14 season is hoping that he can kick start his season soon enough after recovering from various niggling injuries over the past few months.
He added:
“I’ve made ten appearances now so, having got over my injury problems, it [the season] appears to have finally kick-started
“Hopefully the team and I can kick on and put together a winning run.”
Michael Carrick is a doubt for today’s match against Fulham so Cleverley could find himself in the starting XI looking to impress alongside Marouane Fellaini.
