One of the stories of the week to come out of Manchester United has been the five-year contract extension for 18-year-old Adnan Januzaj and now the club has had an extra boost, as he is now eligible to be added into their UEFA Champions League Squad.
David Moyes addressed the media on Tuesday afternoon at his press conference from Old Trafford, confirming that Januzaj has been added to the squad and could make his Champions League debut on Wednesday night against Real Sociedad.
The United boss, addressing the media said:
“Januzaj is available
“He’s an exciting young player and he’s making good progress all the time. He’s someone who, I’m sure, will play a big part in the future of Manchester United. He’s an exceptional talent.”
Moyes also confirmed extra good news that both Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley both “have a chance” of facing Real Sociedad after picking up injuries on their international duties.
Moyes added:
“There are one or two knocks and niggles, which most teams have. Vida and Rio are making good progress. Danny Welbeck has a little bit of an injury from the Southampton game so we’ll have to see how he is.
“Tom Cleverley isn’t as bad as we thought. They both have a chance.”
