Manchester United’s Capitain Nemanja Vidic is more than happy that his side reacted after a bad result last weekend to get at least a point away to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.
United had taken the lead in the 17th-minutes from a great strikers goal from Danny Welbeck. Shakhtar Donetsk got back on level terms during the second half with a thumping strike from Taison.
Vidic was happy with the way Manchester United responded to their 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford to West Brom last weekend, coming out fighting against Donetsk.
Speaking with MUTV, the United captain said:
“The most important thing is I saw improvement, I saw solidity, I saw a reaction from the last game. We were hard to beat in all positions, not just at the back, but in midfield and wide, and that’s the way we have to play.
“We have to work hard, play as a team and hopefully goals will come.
“We improved, we didn’t let them have many chances to run at our defence.
Manchester United are the only English side not to lose against Shakhtar Donetsk, but Vidic admits they will need to improve.
He added:
“Our team worked really hard but there is still room to improve, and that’s a good thing.
“We know we have not played at our best yet, but we still have time to improve and the next game is really important.”
