Leighton Baines has asked Everton Football Club to agree a deal to sell him to Manchester United, according to the Independent.
Manchester United looked set to put in another bid to bring both Fellaini and Leighton Baines to Old Trafford before their next fixture against Liverpool on Sunday.
Baines, who United are valuing at £12million, wants to rejoin his former manager and would like the challenge of competing for the league title as well as experience in the Champions League, well who wouldn’t?
Everton manager Roberto Martinez said earlier this week that there had been no fresh bid, but Moyes seems sure the Premier League champions will try again before the window closes, with Baines putting in his request to leave.
If United are to get both Fellaini and Baines then the fee reported for both will rise to £35million.
Asked last week when he had any sympathy for the players, David Moyes said:
“I definitely do. But I also know that if I was the Everton manager and Sir Alex had come asking for Baines and Fellaini, I would have found it very difficult to keep them. I always felt the right thing to do was what was right for the players.”
Do you think Baines will be good for Manchester United?

Moyes shd try an go for a player befor the close date.
Absolute rubbish with no foundation in fact at all
Yes, he would be a good signing and would not doubt only improve at united. The point is, I would rather buy a younger left back who is happy to sit on the bench for a season or two and edge into the side before taking over the mantle from Pat. Whilst Baines may actually be a better player than Evra, I think Evra is invaluable to the dressing room; he’s experienced and loves United – a real presence in the dressing room. If Baines were 24 or so I would relish him coming to united but at 28…I’m not convinced we need him just now so when we do need him, he’ll be pushing 30. Who knows, will have to wait and see…My pessimism is mainly based around my love for Pat.
Moyes should bring in players for us before the transfer close
Don’t build your hopes up boys. This story is complete BS, manufactured by your wonderful club and it’s ‘friends’ in the press.
…. Oh no he didn’t.
Sam Wallace is an awful journalist. A midget amongst pigmys.
Would rather see us go for alternatives to Barnes like coentrao or shaw. Happy with Fellaini though provided he improves his work rate a bit
