Jose Mourinho confirmed on Wednesday evening that Chelsea will lodge another bid for Wayne Rooney, but not until after the two sides meet at Old Trafford on Monday night.
Manchester United meet with Chelsea in their first home match of the seaon on Monday night, looking strong after a 4-1 away victory at Swansea City.
Speaking after Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Aston Villa at Stamford Brdige, Mourinho said the following regarding Rooney:
“We will not interfere with Manchester United before we play them. The week after, we will do something
“We will not bid for Rooney again until after Monday, this is ethical, and the board agrees with me.
Chelsea have already lodged two bids for Wayne Rooney thus far in the transfer window, with a £20million and a £25million bid.
It is rumoured that Chelsea will make a final push next week to push Rooney away from Old Trafford with a new £40million bid as the England striker is firmly in Mourinho’s plans for the season should the current Premier League champions accept their new offer.
David Moyes has been adamant since the first bid came in that Wayne Rooney is not for sale, but it is general knowledge know that Rooney is not happy at the club and is more than pushing a move to Chelsea, but, to this date has not officially submitted an official transfer request.

Why don’t ManUtd just sell him to Chelsea, his best is behind him anyway, brilliant player on his day yes but very inconsistent if we are honest, as teenagers WR was much more complete than CR7…..but as men now…..CR7 truly has fulfilled his potential
Why concern ourselves about Mourinho. He seeks publicity. Why give it. We do what we want, when we want. Chelsea have no power over Manchester United. None at all.
am very disappointed with mourihno why hav some respect 4 other managers if David says Wayne is not for sale at any price why would he force things happen. At first I thought barcelona were wrong but now I get 4 sure am fed up with mour’s lack of respect. sh’d we say there mind games, I guess not

I think mour is an awesome guy but if Rooney ain’t for he aint for sale. But I would think it Wud be a smart deal if Dave sells Rooney to RM for 20mill+ Luka Modric b/c we need a defensive midfielder to partner wid carrick so MU can the 4-2-3-1 wid RVP up front.
Ain’t for sale*.
