Wayne Rooney is due to fly back to Manchester this evening after pulling his hamstring in their very first training session over in Bangkok.
The United striker had a scan on Thursday evening and the club have decided that in the best interest of the player, to fly him back to Manchester in which he can continue rehabilitation at Carrington.
The club anticipate that he will be unavailable for selection for up to one month, the Rio Ferdinand testimonial and community shield will be the target for his return.
Manchester United will start their pre-season tour on Saturday against Singha All Star XI.
