Robin van Persie Golden Boot Winner 2012/2013
Manchester United’s Robin van Persie has won the Golden Boot Award for the 2012/2013 season.
Robin van Persie moved to Manchester United last summer in an attempt to win trophies, in the process of winning the Barclays Premier League van Persie scored 26 goals. The 29-year-old won the award last year after scoring 30 goals with Arsenal.
It is end of an era at Manchester United following the exit of manager Sir Alex Ferguson but Robin Van Persie is intending it to be the start of a new one under David Moyes.
Speaking on winning the league he said:
“It is a great feeling to achieve it. We can enjoy it. It only gives you the taste for more. Hopefully next season we can win the double.”
“I do think it is important for a player to win medals, you play football to win. If you add up all those wins it has to end up in a big trophy.”
