Sir Alex Ferguson has this morning revealed to MUTV that Ashley Young will be out for the rest of the season as Manchester United move closer to their 20th league title.
Ashley Young had damaged his ankle at Old Trafford against Manchester City and was initially ruled out for a few weeks but on closer inspection the injury is worse than first thought.
Speaking with MUTV, Sir Alex said:
“Ashley is out for the season,”
“We thought it’d be maybe two or three weeks but now he’s been down to the specialist and that’s why you saw him at the game on Wednesday.
“We took him down to a specialist in London and the prognosis was not very good at all. We’re going to lose him for the rest of the season.”
