Ángelo Henríquez will move from Manchester United to Wigan Athletic on loan for the second half of the Barclays Premier League season.
Sir Alex Ferguson and Roberto Martinez have agreed a loan deal for Henríquez which will start of January 2013.
Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has promised to send Henríquez back to United as a better striker than when he arrives, aiming to give him the ‘Tom Cleverley treatment’ who had a spell at Wigan back in the 2010/2011 season.
Henríquez who joined the reds in the summer and has featured for the reserves yet training everyday with the first-team, a loan spell at Wigan Athletic will bring more first-team football and get him used to the English game.
Martinez said:
“Angelo is as good a goalscorer as you will find. He scored goals at Universidad de Chile and he is going to score goals here.
“I am sure he will be an important player for United. We are glad we can work with him and he can use Wigan as Tom Cleverley did and adapt to what is needed in this league.”
