Anderson out for up to eight weeks with a hamstring tear

Manchester United’s Anderson is facing between six to eight weeks on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring tear injury.

The Brazilian midfielder limped off last weekend in Manchester United’s 4-3 win away to Reading.

This latest injury comes at an bad time for Anderson, who has been improving his football since the pre-season tour of South Africa and Europe.

After the Reading game Sir Alex Ferguson told MUTV:

“It is a hamstring, it will be three or four weeks. It is not serious but it is a hamstring.”

But it seems, that being reported today in The Times, Anderson is set for a longer period on the sidelines as the medical team have discovered a tear in the hamstring.

The boss does have other options for the busy period that December brings as United face five Premier League games in a hectic 15-day period.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
