Anders Lindegaard has come out in The Mirror this morning with claims that David De Gea will have to share No 1 spot with him at Manchester United.
David De Gea started the season between the sticks for Manchester United against Everton and Fulham, but since then the squad rotation in goal has swung to Lindegaard’s favour.
Lindegaard himself had 90-minutes in net for the Under 21s at Altrincham before being selected to start against Southampton and keeping his place in net for United’s 4-0 victory over Wigan Athletic.
Anders Lindegaard goes on to say:
“At this point I see David’s and my roles as co-workers rather than No 1 and No 2”
“He has his strengths and I have mine and the gaffer is world class at picking the right teams and I trust in that and I accept his decision.”
“I’m happy to play, Look at Old Trafford, it’s amazing to play in front of that crowd. It’s so historic and I’m just happy to play whenever I can.”
