Manchester United reserves, which is now known as the Under-21’s Barclay’s Premier League start their home campaign with a fixture against Tottenham Hotspurs on Wednesday night.
The reds will look to start their home fixtures with a win after beating Stoke City away last Saturday (Match Report)
Reserve manager Warren Joyce spoke to manutd.com ahead of the visit of Tottenham Hotspurs and had this to say:
“Spurs Under-21s lost their first game 6-4 to Newcastle but we don’t know them too well so it’s going a little bit into the unknown for us, I don’t think we’ve really played against Tottenham before at Reserves level. Not that I can recall over the last few years anyway.”
Joyce on Darren Fletcher’s inclution
“It was great for ‘Fletch’ and I thought he did really well in the game, He did his job and Stoke’s older players were in the areas of the field he was operating in so it must’ve been great for him to come through 90 minutes like that.”
“He’s a good example for everybody because he treats the games as if they are first-team matches.”
