Man Utd 2021/2022 Premier League fixtures

Manchester United can start preparing for a fresh Premier League title charge after the 2021/22 fixtures’ announcement on June 16.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side had a decent 2020/21 season but failed to lift a single piece of silverware to back their solid performances.

After finishing runners-up to Manchester City, United will be keen to get a step further in 2021/22 and win their first Premier League crown in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.

The opening day of the season, expected to be featured in that week’s live football on tv, will see United write another chapter in their long-standing rivalry with Leeds United at the Theatre of Dreams.

The Red Devils’ first road trip of the 2021/22 campaign pits them against Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium on Matchday 2.

October 23 will give United their first test of character in the new season. They will entertain fierce rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford, looking to exact revenge for a disturbing 4-2 home defeat back in May.

Solskjaer’s men are due to travel to London to take on Tottenham the following weekend.

United’s clash against the Spurs comes on the eve of the first Manchester derby of the 2021/22 season as they meet cross-town rivals Manchester City on November 6.

November could well be one of the crucial months for United’s hopes of overthrowing City.

The Europa League runners-up will head to Stamford Bridge to tackle Chelsea on November 27, just three days before hosting London giants Arsenal to Old Trafford.

After a series of high-profile fixtures in November, the Red Devils will face a few winnable challenges in December.

Crystal Palace will arrive in Manchester on December 4, with clashes against the newly-promoted Norwich City and Brentford to follow.

Brighton & Hove Albion, Newcastle United and Burnley will serve as warm-up fixtures for United’s New Year’s Day meeting with Wolverhampton at home.

While the opening two months of 2022 will present the Red Devils with some challenges they should deal with routinely, March will be a whole different story.

The second Manchester derby of the season is projected to take place at the Etihad on March 5, a week before United’s heavyweight showdown against Tottenham on home turf.

On March 19, United will travel to Anfield to meet Liverpool in the rematch before playing host to Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City at Old Trafford.

The Premier League title race will be in full swing when the 13-time league champions welcome Chelsea to the Theatre of Dreams.

Solskajer’s men will finish the season at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace on May 22.
