United transfer target admits he is 'happy' where he is

He is Manchester United’s and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s number-one transfer target this summer, that of Jadon Sancho, but overnight quotes have come out from Sancho that may indicate that he is happy at Dortmund.

Jadon Sancho featured for Dotmund and played 45-minutes against Altach in a 6-0 victory in the first of Dortmund’s pre-season friendlies over in Switzerland.

The rumour mill surrounding Sancho certainly did not effect his performance for Dortmund, putting in an impressive performance as the club got back into action.

Sancho has been silent regarding links to Manchester United over the past months, but in an interview after Dortmunds victory he appeared to indicate that he is more than happy at the club, hailing their “special” squad and speaking of his desire to guide through their next generation of players as a leader in the dressing room.

Sancho said that:

“I love playing with this lot, it is a special bunch.”

“We’ve got some special young players coming up. I am really happy to share the pitch with them and guide them.”

“I was once in their shoes, playing with the seniors. I am happy for them.”

“I joined when I was 17. Some of the lads are the same age.”

“I’ve been there and done that. I can guide them in what’s good and what isn’t. I can hopefully motivate them as well.”

The deal is now back in discussion with both clubs, with Dortmund adamant they will not let Jadon Sancho leave for less than the £100million, but Ed Woodward and Manchester United are valuing him closer to £80million, and wish to pay in three installments.

Sancho’s comments cast a doubt on whether he would push for a transfer request or be content to stay in Germany.

This transfer saga is one that may go on, and on.
