REPORT: Manchester United planning stunning raid of Italian giants

Manchester United’s summer transfer business has gotten off to a strong start. FC Porto’s Diogo Dalot was first through the club’s doors, with the 19 year old Portuguese defender brought in to provide cover at right back, which is certainly welcome given that Antonio Valencia was certainly overused in the role last season. A deal has also been reached to bring Shaktar Dontesk’s Fred to Old Trafford, with the Brazilian yet to be fully unveiled by the club but with a transfer fee already agreed with the Ukrainian side.

Reports have been swirling of potential exits, with Marouane Fellaini expected to leave the club when his contract runs out at the end of June. Matteo Darmian, a player who has never had the trust of manager Jose Mourinho is likely to end his stay at the club too, with a return to his home country likely.

Juventus have been sounded out as a potential destination for the former Torino defender, but Calciomercato are expanding on that potential transfer with this sensational report.

The Italian outlet are suggesting that United have enquired about several of the Bianconeri’s players, including Mario Mandzukic, Alex Sandro and Sami Khedira. The Croatian is likely to stay in Italy, however, and the news coming out of United this week is that right back is no longer a priority. But the opportunity to bolster the team’s midfield with a quality option like Khedira would be hugely appealing to United fans.

The report also states that Juventus will try and negotiate for Darmian’s services, whilst also enquiring about the possibility of securing Anthony Martial’s services. The club has set his transfer fee prohibitively high, presumably in order to put potential suitors off, but regardless; this promises to be a hugely interesting meeting between representatives of the two clubs with plenty of ramifications for United.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
