United deal reached for £43million midfielder

Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk this summer, according to the reliable Di Marzio.

Di Marzio goes onto to mention that in fact Manchester United have now reached an agreement for Fred, Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder, by beating Manchester City with a deal worth 50 million euros (£43million).

Fred will be is travelling to Europe next week for the national team’s friendly with Croatia which take place at Anfield, so would be perfect timing for him to come to Manchester to complete personal terms and his medical.

Fred will now slot into the Manchester United midfield alongside Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic and in Mourinho plans going forward.

Manchester City were believed to be favourites to sign Fred back in January as a long-term replacement for Fernandinho, but it now appears that Manchester United have won another battle with the blue half of the City, after also beating them to sign Alexis Sanchez.

Fred has been named in Brazil’s their squad for the World Cup over in Russia, he has seven caps for his country this far.
