Tottenham make shock transfer move for Man Utd winger

Tottenham Hotspur have made an attempt to sign Anthony Martial from Manchester United with a bid over the weekend, according to RMC.

It was only in today’s media that Gary Lineker was urging Manchester United to find a place in their plans for the 2017/18 season, after a summer of speculation linking Anthony Martial with a move away from Old Trafford.

The 21-year-old has struggled to make a positive impression on Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, starting just 18 Premier League games during Jose’s first season.

Tottenham Hotspur and Daniel Levy reported contacted Manchester United over the weekend to place an official bid for Anthony Martial, one that was immediately turned down by the board.

Anthony Martial has been in demand this transfer window, with Inter Milan demanding Martial on loan if there was ever to be a deal for Manchester United to buy Perisic. Again, this was turned down by Mourinho in recent weeks, hopefully meaning that Martial is in his plans for the coming season, which United start with on Sunday with a home fixture to West Ham.

RMC, have yet to report more details on how much Tottenham Hotspur have bid for the winger.

There has been much interest in both Spurs and United over the past month, with United wanting both Danny Rose and Eric Dier. But dealing with Tottenham Hotspur is never easy over transfers.
