Manchester United stir up Evra rumours with Instagram post

Manchester United may have stirred up their fanbase with their latest Instagram post, which celebrates the day Patrice Evra signed for the club ten years ago. The Frenchman, who arrived at Old Trafford in 2006 from Monaco, is a beloved figure at the club even after leaving United in the summer of 2014, and the post, which you can see below, does nothing to calm the speculation that the club might be interested in bringing the defender back to the club.

@Patrice.Evra signed for #MUFC on this day in 2006. We loved watching him in a United shirt! ⚽👏 #ilovethisgame

It’s not uncommon for United to reference their former players on social media; just this last week, the club celebrated Jaap Stam’s return as the now-Reading manager for Saturday’s FA Cup third round meeting. But the timing, giving the rumours that Evra is ready to leave Juventus having fallen out of favour at the Italian club, is particularly interesting. It might be completely innocent, but United will be well aware of the growing desire in the club’s fanbase to bring the Frenchman back to Old Trafford

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
