Rumours: Manchester United edge closer to signing Arturo Vidal

Manchester United are set to sign Arturo Vidal after agreeing a £47 million fee with Juventus, claims various media outlets on Thursday.

The reports also say that the Chilean midfielder has approved of Manchester United’s offered contract worth £200,000 a week.

Louis van Gaal is said to be a massive fan of Arturo Vidal, with the Juventus midfielder top of Van Gaal’s wish-list. Speaking about Vidal prior to Chile facing Netherlands in the World Cup, Van Gaal said:

“I always wanted to buy Vidal when he was at Bayer Leverkusen but he went to Juventus.”

Vidal has been linked to several other clubs this summer including Arsenal and Bayern Munich. An Italian article suggested that Vidal had agreed personal terms with Manchester United a few weeks ago, with an agreed transfer fee the only thing to stall the deal.

United have already spent approximately £60million on Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera this summer, with many more signings expected including Thomas Vermaelen from Arsenal. Reports also suggest that Louis van Gaal has around £150million to spend, and up to four new faces could arrive at Old Trafford before the end of the transfer window.

Let’s just hope that all these reports actually mount to something being finalised. On social media, Vidal seems to be the new Sneijder in regards to the rumour mill.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!

We are tired of plaining without action. I think what happened last season that we ended up buying just a single player is what is happening now. LvG should remainber he has sold 5players and has not replaced them.

But Tony, United face a season with fewer games, too hefty a squad and it become impossible to keep all squad members both happy and match fit. LVG has already stated that a squad of 20 senior players would be about correct for the coming season. Also the signings of Luke Shaw and also Ander Herrera does not add up to a single player.

It’s not the numbers of players leaving versus the numbers recruited, it’s about the quality.of the squad. LVG will get it right, be patient.

Woodward should stop breaking our hearts and bring in vidal, hammels, di maria and blind so we can be sure of lifting back our trophy,’cos it’z our bonafide property.
