Manchester United cancel training session in Hong Kong

Manchester United have cancelled a planned open training session in Hong Kong due to the state of the pitch after heavy rain.

United, who are due to play Kitchee FC in the stadium on Monday afternoon, decided to cancel the training session after torrential rain over the last few days.

An official statement from the club said:

“Manchester United, Kitchee and the Hong Kong Football Association have reluctantly made the decision to cancel the open training session, planned for tomorrow (Sunday) evening at the Hong Kong stadium”

The match on Monday is still set to go ahead with ground staff working hard to make the pitch playable.

Manchester United will be without Shinji Kagawa who has stayed in Japan with his family, taking a weeks holiday before returning to Manchester in preparation for the new season.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
