Bayern Munich not interested in Wayne Rooney

Bayern Munich not interested in Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney.

Bayern Munich have been quick to come out to state that they are not interested in signing Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

Munich club sporting director, Matthias Sammer was quick to put any rumours to bed after Rooney put in a transfer request, again, two weeks ago with United.

News broke at the weekend from retiring manager Sir Alex Ferguson that Wayne Rooney did indeed had handed in a transfer request and wanted to leave the club.

Sammer, who was speaking at Bayern Munich’s pre Champions League final press conference, was very stern in his response on the Rooney issue.

Sammer said:

“I don’t know what Rooney would bring to the Bundesliga. I can’t answer that but I can answer that we have great respect for Wayne Rooney, but there has been no contact with him. He’s not on the agenda. No, no. Absolutely not.”

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
