Robin van Persie has thanked Manchester United fans for the support he has received since joining in the summer.
Robin, after winning the fans player of the month for December says that it is always nice to be recognised by the fans, and is much deserved after he has netted 20 goals for the reds this term.
The December of the month award went to van Persie after he scored five goals in six games to help the Reds maintain their seven-point lead at the top of the Barclays Premier League. He won the award with 58% of the fans votes.
Speaking with manutd.com, Robin could not contain his delight:
“It’s always nice to be recognised by the fans, I have settled into the club quite quickly and I am really enjoying playing in this team. I would like to thank the fans for all their support.
“It’s not all about scoring goals, but obviously that does help. It’s great that so many players have scored goals over the season so far.
“December is always a difficult month and I feel we have come through this period as we wanted to and hopefully we can now push on for the rest of the season.”
