Bébé moves from Manchester United to Rio Ave

As mentioned last week before New Year, the Official announcement has come out today from the club that Bébé has joined Portuguese side Rio Ave on loan until the end of the 2012/2013 season.

Bébé has only played 7 times for the first team since joining in August 2010 for a fee of £7.4million, but as late, even been struggling to impress both Officials and fans in the U21s at Manchester United.

Sir Alex Ferguson feels it’s best for Bébé to gain experience first-team football elsewhere, thus his loan move to Rio Ave has been made official.

Speaking with MUTV, Sir Alex said:

“We feel the boy has got to get good experience at a better level than our reserve team, he’s gone to Real Ave who are fifth in the Portuguese league at the moment – they have a young coach [Nuno] who has a very good reputation.

“Bebe has done quite well in the last two or three months. He got a cruciate knee injury when he was on loan in Turkey last season and that derailed him for a bit. Coming back from these injuries takes time but he’s started to develop quite well.

“Hopefully his spell in Portugal, where he is from anyway, could help him.”

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
