Manchester United’s Japanese midfielder Shinji Kagawa has openly admitted that he must improve his football if is he is to survive at the club.
Kagawa was substituted at half-time for Adnan Januzaj in Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat against West Brom last weekend, taking his substitution as a message that he must improve.
Speaking with the Daily Mail, he said:
“I have to take this like some kind of message [from David Moyes].
“I thought that I would have been able to find some space to create the chances in the second half
“I need to improve more and more, or I cannot survive at this club.
“I have to take this in a positive way and keep trying to do my best.”
“In that sense I was disappointed.
“Sure, I wasn’t involved that much. I didn’t touch the ball enough but I was trying to be patient so I didn’t feel that bad.”
Kagawa joined Manchester United for £17million from Borussia Dortmund last year, scoring six time in his debut season with the highlight being his hat-trick against Norwich City at Old Trafford.
The United squad and staff travel from Manchester to Donetsk this afternoon for their Champions League clash, no doubt Shinji Kagawa will be in the squad.

Just say one thing for improve if you don’t get your real position which you shine leave united and return to dortmund. In united rooney can play in left wing where you play because he has been united player for so many year he know the team very well and can play even in left wing he will shine. But you are new and its better moyes gave you your best position in central to shine. If not then leave united and shine in dormund by proving to them wat they miss as player.
Kagawa dnt need to prove anything again ,we already knw what he ‘s capable of doing. Moyes shld jst use him in his best position if he wants to see the best of him.
We will only see best of kagawa when his name is removed from the winger’s list. He is a midfielder and that’s where want to see him.
Yes kagawa should play in central so that he can prove moyes that he was wrong playing him as left winger.
I have predict that will keane will score and because januzaj,zaha man utd will win i wrote it before the match start and my predict was right. Now i predict my line up for united to win in shakhtar match.

I don’t start fellaini because he hasn’t the champion league experience and united is in a condition that fan want to win. So only experience player should start. And also kagawa should get in central and rooney in left.

I think every united fan is scared that he will leave, he needs to be given a good run of games on the wing with him cutting inside and creating chances and he will prove how good he is.
I get the impression that Kagawa and Januzaj could be fighting for one place in a Moyes team.
