Hernandez adopts selfless attitude to help Manchester United

Javier Hernandez has adapted a selfless attitude in order to aid Manchester United’s trophy quest this season.

Hernandez is likely to start on Wednesday in the FA Cup third-round replay against West Ham at Old Trafford after not being involved against Liverpool despite his recent good form for the reds.

Many would be disappointed to be dropped in such a big game, but Hernandez is always prepared to be ready for his moment, whether it be 90 minutes or just one he is determination to improve and fire United towards more silverware this season.

He told manutd.com:

“I’m not saying I’m the perfect player. I am always looking to improve my game, whether that’s my play outside the box or also inside it.”

“I still think there is work for me to do. But the reason I want to improve is so that I can help the team.

“It’s not just that I want to score more goals. It’s a group sport and so I want to do what I can to help the team get the right results every week.”

Hernandez so far this season has 12 goals to his name,  only Robin van Persie has more this term and he accepts that Manchester United’s speedy approach to games suits him.

He continued to say:

“In the history of Manchester United, the team plays a very direct, attacking game, we want to get to the goal as quickly as we can. Whether it ends in a goal or a goal-kick, we want to play with speed.

“But the important thing at this club is that we can express ourselves. We don’t feel too much pressure in that respect because every time we go out on the field the gaffer tells us, ‘Go out, enjoy yourself and do your best’.

“That’s been important to us doing well so far this season. But we are not saying that it’s over. We have a lot of confidence but we know there are a lot of difficult games coming.”
